Magazine Name : “Pirinç” ( english ; “rice” )
Departmants :
There will be 3 departmant in this magazine.
1- Food ; in this section there will be Chinese food recipes as classical, but also other stuffs like announcement for Chinese food workshops and historical background of the foods will be held in this section.
2- Travel ; in this section there will be cultural and touristic places which readers might be like to go.
3- Art & Design ; Worldwide art and design news will be read interestedly by the readers. News from exhibitions, announcement for upcoming cultural events and also present of Chinese artists will be held in this section.
Features :
Generally 2 features will be in this magazine.
In this issue;
1- Celebrity chef Ken Hom: “Eating healthy Chinese”
The most celebrated Chinese chef around talks about helathy Chinese foods , and reveals how he came to fame.
2- “Abı-hayat” the history of whisky. Where is it come from? Who made it first?
Magazine Design proposal
I am going to design a magazine for Chinese restaurant which called Çubuk ( chopstick ). Possible content for that, for example; food, art and design, lifestyle, urban life, travel, decoration, architecture, some stuff related to food, interview with a famous chef, a celebrity who likes eating Chinese food, book reviews, Chinese astrology… Name the magazine will be “ÇinÇin“, “China Town” or “Çinli“ or something else..I’ll decide it later..
Lets see the examples of the content..
Food; in this section there will be Chinese food recipes as classical, but also other stuffs like announcement for Chinese food workshops and historical background of the foods will be in this section.
Art and Design; i think Chinese and worldwide art and design news will be read interestedly by the readers. News from exhibitions, announcement for upcoming cultural events and also present of Chinese artists can be held in this section. For example the artist HUANG YAN can be present…

Travel; in this section there will be touristic places which readers might be like to go. i choose Thailand, because its geographically, culturally near the China. So readers might be interested Thailand’s culture and also food.
Interview with Chiefs, I think reading an interview with a famous Chinese chief is fun. Because if you like Chinese food, probably you want to know who is cooking it. Their background, life style can be interested by readers. In my magazine design i am going to use the famous chef Martin Yan. I choose him because he knows very much on Chinese food. He wrote six book about Chinese food,and also he had t.v show called “Yan Can Cook” ;
“Martin Yan’s China is the latest 26-part series from award-winning Chinese chef and television host, Martin Yan”…
so i decide he is the best chef i want to present in my magazine.
Book reviews, In this section the books from around the world and Chinese books will be reviewed. Also, Chinese and worlds most books hot-list will be cover in this part. In this page i will use images from the Chinese culture for example;
Architecture, I will use historical chinese architecture in my first issue. Why did they choose this typical structure? What are the historical aspects of it? This questions will be answered in this section.
